CALL TO WORSHIP

“How Great Is Our God”

“Te Alabaré Mi Buen Jesús”

CONFESSION OF SIN

Adapted from an ancient Persian Prayer (Daily Prayer Project):

All that we ought to have thought, and have not thought,

All that we ought to have said, and have not said,

All that we ought to have done, and have not done;

All that we ought not to have thought, and yet have thought,

All that we ought not to have spoken, and yet have spoken,

All that we ought not to have done, and yet have done;

For thoughts, words, and works, we pray, O God, for forgiveness.

A: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (Ps 103:11-12)

GREETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

PASTORAL PRAYER

SERMON TEXT | Colossians 3:5-11 ESV

5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming. 7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. 8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. 11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

SERMON | Rev. Tolivar Wills
